BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. The volume of cargo transported from Iran’s North Khorasan Province to other provinces of the country decreased by 12 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Director General of Road and Transport Department of North Khorasan Province Mohammad Moshtari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The director general said that a total of 2.88 million tons of cargo were transported from the province within the last Iranian year.
Moshtari added that the mentioned volume of cargo was transported by 211,000 trucks, which is a decrease of 9 percent compared to the preceding year.
According to him, the main transported goods were urea, cement and aluminum dioxide. These goods were mainly transported to Iran's Hormozgan, Razavi Khorasan and South Khorasan provinces.
The official also noted that there are 26 companies operating in the province on cargo transportation.
Meanwhile, the mentioned 26 companies have 8,206 trucks. Of these, 3,234 are pick-up trucks, and 4,972 are other trucks.
