BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Bandar Lengeh port in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 65.8 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
About 2.65 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the last Iranian year. Of that, 1.94 million tons were loaded and 705,000 tons were unloaded.
In addition, approximately 1.86 million tons of cargo were exported and 74,600 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port during the reporting period.
"Also, 12,500 tons of cargo were loaded and about 327,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as 69,200 tons were loaded and 2,200 tons were unloaded for cabotage over the last year," the statistics said.
At the same time, 2,190 tons of cargo were loaded and about 301,000 tons were unloaded in this port for other purposes.
Some 1.18 million tons of essential products, 699 tons of metal products, approximately 800,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 347,000 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 7,250 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the last year.
Moreover, 7,930 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 396 tons of small and assorted goods, about 302,000 tons of container products, and 1,850 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned period.
Overall, approximately 152 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports over the last Iranian year. Of that, about 80 million tons were loaded and 71.7 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year.
