Kazakh student Aynur Ahmetova was delivered to Astana yesterday morning, still in extremely critical condition , the Health Ministry's Public Relations Department Chief Slushash Kuatjanova said.

"She is under a coma of the third degree. Her brain is not functioning, pressure is low - maintenance therapy continues", Kuatjanova said .

Aynur is currently undergoing treatment at the National Research Neurosurgery Center in Astana.

The Kazakh student Aynur was a participant of the Work and Travel education program in the United States. The source said the girl was found unconscious by police near a motel pool.

Earlier, U.S. physicians established that Aynur's brain is dead. Kazakh physicians confirmed the U.S. doctors' diagnosis. Aynur's parents asked to keep their daughter connected to artificial life support and to have her transported to the neurosurgery center in Astana

Kuatjanova said that a press conference will be held for media outlets in the near future , during which Kazakh doctors will assess the Aynur's state of health.
