Kazakhstan expects to get "OK" for the deployment of an international nuclear fuel bank on its territory, Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev has today stated at the opening of the International Forum for a Nuclear Weapons-Free World opened in Astana.
"We expect to get a positive solution to this issue," Nazarbayev said.
Kazakhstan previously applied for placement of an international nuclear fuel bank on its territory.
Moreover, Nazarbayev said the country does not intend to abandon plans to build nuclear power plants.
"Currently, 15 states are building or planning to build nuclear power plants, Kazakhstan is among them," Nazarbayev said.
