Some $3.84 million allocated for providing Zhanaozen with food

The Agriculture Ministry and Holding "KazAgro" allocated 570 million tenge ($3.84 million) to provide Zhanaozen population with food, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev said today during the teleconference at a government meeting, Kazinform reported.

The Agriculture Ministry and Holding "KazAgro" allocated 570 million tenge ($3.84 million) to provide Zhanaozen population with food, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev said today during the teleconference at a government meeting, Kazinform reported.

In addition, Shukeyev said that heat, gas, electricity and water supply systems are fully operating in the city.

On Friday mass riots took place in the Kazakh oil town of Zhanaozen in the Mangistau region which killed 14 and injured about 90 people. President Nursultan Nazarbayev signed a decree to impose a state of emergency in the area from Saturday. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, situation in the Zhanaozen city is gradually stabilizing.

Preliminary damage that the riots caused in Zhanaozen, hits 1.9 billion tenge (over $12.8 million), Shukeyev said.
