Observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will monitor extraordinary parliamentary elections in all regions of Kazakstan, Itar-Tass reported.

"The CIS mission headquarters has begun its activity in Kazakhstan. We will send our representatives to each and every region of the republic," head of the headquarters Yevgeny Sloboda said on Monday at a meeting with chairman of the Kazakh Central Election Commission Kuandyk Turgankulov.

Extraordinary elections by party lists to the lower house of Kazakhstan's parliament will be held on January 15, 2012. On January 16, 2012, the Assembly of Kazakhstan's Peoples will elect its members of the low parliament house.
"We plan to hold meetings with representatives from political parties vying for seats in the parliament. We also plan to monitor the balloting procedure during the elections of lawmakers elected by the Assembly of Kazakhstan's People," Sloboda said.
The Kazakh side, in his words, "has created all conditions needed to organize the monitoring, and the procedural guidelines are organized at the best level possible."
