The Civil Aviation Committee under the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications said on Thursday.
The memorandum is aimed at providing constant monitoring of flight safety in Kazakhstan.
The decision to implement the system of constant monitoring was adopted at the 37th Session of ICAO Assembly in 2010. The new initiative was supported by many countries including Kazakhstan.
The mechanism of constant monitoring of flight safety allows to identify risk factors in the country's flights safety on the basis of the information provided by the aviation authorities. Moreover, ICAO will provide the country with the results of the analysis and recommendations to improve existing weaknesses.
According to the Ministry, the Memorandum will allow to improve flight safety in Kazakhstan by implementing proactive and effective system of flight safety management.
