Kazakh PM calls on Finland to develop cooperation

Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov within a meeting with Finnish Minister for EU Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb called on Finland to develop cooperation with Kazakhstan, Prime Minister's press-service reported.

"I think that we should expand the range of economic cooperation, including trade relations with Finland, launching new joint ventures in Kazakhstan with advanced Finnish technology and developing transit opportunities," Akhmetov said.

According to Akhmetov, Kazakhstan is mainly interested in participation of Finnish businesses in major projects of energy, engineering, innovation and transfer of new technologies.

Within the meeting Akhmetov and Stubb exchanged views on the current state of the world economy. Moreover the parties discussed the forthcoming visit of Finnish President to Kazakhstan, scheduled for April 2013.

Finish business delegation headed by Alexander Stubb consist of representatives of 55 companies. Some important agreements in trade and economic sphere are expected to be signed within the visit to Kazakhstan.
