Kazakhstan set to up production of dairy products

Two projects on reconstruction of dairy farms are being implemented in the Shemonaikha district of the East Kazakhstan region this year.

The reconstruction of a dairy farm for 360 cattle is underway in the Kamyshinskoye farm in the Babylonian rural area of the Shemonaikha district. The project cost is 450 million tenge.

Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Amangeldy Toktarov said that the dairy farm is planned to be put into operation in November 2017.

Moreover, a dairy farm for 400 cattle is being realized in the in the Kamenevsky rural area of the Shemonaikha district. The project cost is 1,350 million tenge, which is funded through the Agrarian Credit Corporation.

Toktarov added that during eight months of 2017, the region's farms own 23,700 cattle, including 10,000 cows, 11,400 pigs, 3,200 horses and 10,700 sheep and goats.

During the same period, 30,300 tons of milk were produced, the average milk yield per forage cow was 3,071 litres; meat - 3,700 tons in live weight and more than 5,000 eggs.

As part of the second direction of the program "Agrobusiness 2020" in the current year, the region has mastered subsidies amounting to 584.7 million tenge, including 337.6 million tenge for the increase of productivity and quality of livestock products, and 96 million tenge for breeding.
