Investments in food production in Kazakhstan reached 38.2 billion tenge at the end of the first five months of the current year - twice more than a year earlier.

Investments in food production in Kazakhstan reached 38.2 billion tenge at the end of the first five months of the current year - twice more than a year earlier, Kazakh media reported July 2.

The largest volume fell to the share of Almaty (31.3 percent of the total volume) and Kostanay (14.9 percent of the total volume) regions. The volume of investments into fixed capital in the sphere of food production increased more than 3.3 times per year in both regions, - to 11.9 billion tenge in Almaty region and to 5.7 billion tenge in Kostanay region.

The largest volume of investments - 57.8 percent was made by the own efforts of the business itself. Another 19.4 percent was secured by bank loans and 22.8 percent - by other borrowed funds.

It is just the producers of Almaty region and the key metropolis - Almaty – who provided the greatest contribution - 26.1 percent to the food industry of Kazakhstan. Another 12.7 percent fell to the share of Kostanay region. In total, the food products amounting to 627.9 billion tenge were produced in the country - this is 9.8 percent more than a year ago. Taking into account inflation, the growth of the physical volume of the food industry amounted to 6.3 percent.

The stable growth, both in monetary terms and in physical volume, is recorded in the long-term dynamics in the manufacturing of food products.
