Kazakhstan notes zero growth in prices for socially significant food products

The general index of growth in prices for socially significant food products in Kazakhstan over the past week amounted to zero percent, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.

According to the information, due to the measures taken, the prices for potatoes (-0.4 percent), onions (-1.3 percent) and carrots (-2 percent) decreased in the country for the second week in a row.

Also, a decrease in the growth rate of prices for cabbage was recorded during the week - up to 0.1 percent. It is noted that the financing of the "reverse scheme" in the regions reached 47.9 billion tenge ($112 million).

At the same time, the target level is achieved by 95.7 percent. Effective work on the "reverse scheme" is noted in the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan and Turkestan regions.

Over the past week, the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition, on the basis of anticompetitive concerted actions to set prices, launched an investigation into seven poultry farms selling chicken eggs in Akmola, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions.

In addition, 12 notifications were sent to the subjects of the market for chicken eggs, poultry meat and sugar on the presence of signs of price collusion and the use of different prices.
