BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 10. Kazakhstan's agro-industrial sector doubled the funding this year, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov said at the plenary session of the Senate, Trend reports citing the government.
"The financing in the agro-industrial area has doubled this year. Kazakhstan sees growth in the agro-industrial area in real terms by 8 percent following the result of 10 months," he said.
Smailov added that investment in agriculture has increased in real terms by 7.5 percent.
"Kazakhstan plans to implement 560 projects worth 2.5 trillion tenge ($5.2 billion) in the medium term perspective. They will be allocated, among other things, to ensure food security," he informed.
Earlier, Smailov said that in general, the implementation of the planned production projects will increase the volume of industrial production by 10.5 trillion tenge ($22.2 billion). Approximately 4.4 trillion tenge ($9.31 billion) will be imported. This year, following the results of the year, 158 new industrial facilities in the manufacturing sector will be put into operation.
