BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Kazakhstan and China signed 16 bilateral agreements, including five commercial deals worth $565.4 million, Trend reports, citing the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

The documents were signed in the framework of the 2nd Friendly Dialogue of Cross-Border Cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, which was held in Almaty.

The forum was attended by business delegations representing both nations. Some 20 significant entrepreneurs from Chinese Xinjiang, as well as 10 representatives of Chinese investment-oriented businesses operating in Kazakhstan, took part in the forum.

Speaking at the event, Serik Zhumangarin, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, said that Kazakhstan and China are interested in continuing cooperation in various fields. He added that currently, around 3,300 joint Sino-Kazakh ventures operate in Kazakhstan.

China is one of its most important trade partners of Kazakhstan. The volume of trade between the two nations reached $24 billion in 2022. Kazakh exports to China increased by around one-third to reach $13 billion, while the value of goods imported to Kazakhstan increased by 33.5 percent and amounted to $11 billion.
