BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. US holds one of the leading places in terms of direct investment in Kazakhstan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
This was stated by Kazakh PM Alikhan Smailov during a meeting with the US Ambassador to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum.
According to Smailov, last year the inflow of investments from the US increased almost 2 times and exceeded $5.1 billion, which corresponds to pre-pandemic record levels.
Furthermore, he noted that the trade turnover between the countries increased by almost 40 percent last year and amounted to $3.1 billion, and also added that at the same time Kazakhstan sees significant potential for further increase in trade volumes and is ready to increase exports of 90 commodity items by $800 million.
The PM stressed that Kazakhstan considers the US to be a strategic partner in both bilateral and multilateral formats, in connection with which more than 900 joint ventures are successfully operating in Kazakhstan today.
