BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 26. Kazakhstan plans to construct more than 20 poultry factories with a capacity of over 200,000 tons of poultry meat, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev said during a briefing at the Central Communications Service, Trend reports.
According to the minister, for this purpose, the government has already allocated the first 100 billion Kazakh tenge ($224.9 million) in funding for the current year.
Furthermore, he also spoke about subsidy mechanisms. Previously, only large-scale producers with annual production volumes exceeding 20,000 tons were eligible for subsidies. However, under the new rules, the threshold has been lowered to 5,000 tons per year, expanding the circle of subsidy recipients to include smaller producers.
The expansion of the poultry industry and the construction of these new factories will not only enhance domestic poultry meat production but also create opportunities for smaller-scale producers to thrive and contribute to the country's agricultural development.
