ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 28. The mutual trade of Kazakhstan with the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) amounted to $60.8 billion in 2022, which is 18.7 percent higher than in 2021, Trend reports.

This was stated during the Meeting of Ministers of the SCO member states in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). On behalf of Kazakhstan, the First Vice Minister of National Economy, Timur Zhaksylykov, took part in the meeting. The participants discussed current issues of cooperation, including the development of e-commerce within the SCO.

According to Zhaksylykov, during this period, Kazakhstan’s exports to the SHOK countries amounted to $29.5 billion and its imports to $31.3 billion.

"The SCO is one of the main priorities of Kazakhstan's foreign policy. The organization continues to expand its borders, which indicates its growing international authority in the region and the world," Zhaksylykov said.

Also, the First Vice Minister of National Economy focused on the progress of the implementation of the Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation Program.

Representatives of economic departments agreed to further deepen multilateral cooperation in the trade and economic spheres and increase joint efforts in promoting issues in the field of the digital economy.
