BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. The trade exchange between Kazakhstan and Austria reached a total of more than 1.06 billion euros from January through July 2023, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
During the reporting period, the trade volume between Kazakhstan and Austria increased by 4.46 percent in contrast to the initial 7 months of the year prior (1.02 billion euros).
Kazakhstan’s exports to Austria for 7 months of this year amounted to 891.1 million euros, which is 0.87 percent less than for the same period in 2022 (898.9 million euros).
At the same time, Kazakhstan's imports from Austria have increased sharply. Thus, imports for this period amounted to 176.9 million euros, which is 43.3 percent higher than the figures from January through July 2022 (123.4 million euros).
Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Austria for the 12 months of 2022 amounted to 1.8 billion euros.
Trade turnover between the EU countries and Kazakhstan amounted to 25.35 billion euros from January through July 2023. This figure exceeds by 19 percent the figures for the same period in 2022 (21.31 billion euros).
Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover in 2022 reached a historically high level of $134.4 billion.
The trade surplus amounted to $34.3 billion, which is 82 percent better than in 2021 and four times more than in 2020.
Export volumes amounted to $84.4 billion. By 2021, foreign sales volumes had increased by 40 percent, and by 2020, they had increased by 78 percent.
Import volumes to Kazakhstan reached $50 billion for the first time, updating the 2013 record ($48.8 billion). By the previous year, 2021, the volume of external supplies to the Republic of Kazakhstan had increased by 21 percent, and by 2020, by 29 percent.
