ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 17. The implementation of 52 joint projects with an investment volume of $21 billion continues between Kazakhstan and China, said President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, Trend reports.
"We have built effective interstate cooperation in all areas. A powerful impetus for the comprehensive deepening of ties was given by the results of your (Xi Jinping) state visit to Kazakhstan in September last year, during which a new "golden 30th anniversary" of cooperation between our countries was launched", - he said.
As Tokayev noted, trade between the two countries is developing successfully.
"The growth is significant. The implementation of 52 joint projects with an investment volume of $21 billion continues. 2024 has been declared the Year of Kazakhstan's tourism in China, which will open up great prospects for this area. Favorable conditions are being created for mutual cultural and humanitarian exchange. I believe that Kazakhstan and China have enormous potential to take interstate relations to a qualitatively new level," he added.
In 2022, Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with China amounted to $24.1 billion, which is 34.1 percent more than a year earlier.
Exports from Kazakhstan increased over the year by 34.7 percent, to $13.2 billion.
The share of Kazakhstan's exports to China accounted for a significant 15.6 percent of the country's total trade turnover.
Imports from China to Kazakhstan grew by 33.5 percent over the year, to $11 billion.
China's share in the structure of imports of the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 21.9 percent.
