ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 30. Kazakhstan aims to expand trade turnover with Serbia, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic.
Nurtleu emphasized the importance of diversifying the structure of mutual commerce. Furthermore, he expressed an interest in transferring agricultural technology and best practices from Serbia.
In this regard, the parties agreed to make better use of the opportunities provided by the Eurasian Economic Union-Serbia Free Trade Agreement, the mechanisms of the Intergovernmental Kazakh-Serbian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, and interaction between Kazakhstan and Serbian business circles.
In turn, Dacic confirmed Belgrade's determination to expand cooperation with Kazakhstan, a vital Central Asian partner for Serbia.
To note, the volume of trade turnover between the countries in 2022 was $73.8 million, more than three times the level in 2021.
In 2021, bilateral trade volume amounted to $22.8 million. Exports from Kazakhstan to Serbia amounted to $3.7 million; imports were $19.1 million.
