BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov discussed with Secretary-General of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Zhang Ming prospect for further cooperation, Trend reports citing the press service of President of Kyrgyzstan.
During his visit, Ming emphasized that Kyrgyzstan, as one of the founders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, has taken a lot of effort and contributed significantly to the growth of cooperation among SCO members.
In terms of trade and economic cooperation, the SCO Secretary General stressed the importance of bolstering and expanding collaboration in this sector, particularly in light of the global economic downturn.
He noted that taking into account the international situation, the proposal of the Kyrgyz side to establish the SCO Development Bank and the SCO Development Fund (Special Account) is very relevant.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their optimism for ongoing fruitful cooperation within the SCO in all areas of interaction.
