BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. Work on construction of a power transmission line is underway in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports citing the press service of Kyrgyzstan's National Electricity Network.

Within the framework of CASA-1000 project, the construction of access roads for 1094 electricity poles and installation of 598 poles have been completed.

Currently, active work is being carried out in Kyrgyzstan's Batken, Osh and Jalal-Abad regions. A total of 329 employees, including around 70 percent of locals, 150 special equipment units, vehicles are involved in construction.

The $1.2 billion CASA-1000 project will bring 1300 megawatts of seasonal power from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan and Pakistan. In total, 455.6 kilometers of power transmission line and, 1241 electricity poles will be built in Kyrgyzstan.
