BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. Kyrgyzstan and China have started developing a feasibility study for the construction of the Kyrgyzstan-China-Uzbekistan railway road, Trend reports via Kyrgyz Media.
The report said 80 Chinese specialists have already arrived in Kyrgyzstan and started survey work for the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway building, marking the start of the project's feasibility study.
Under the initial plan, the total length of the railway will be 523 kilometers - 213 kilometers in China, 260 kilometers in Kyrgyzstan and 50 kilometers in Uzbekistan.
The potential of the highway is expected to be from 7 to 13 million tons of cargo transportation per year. Earlier, it was reported that Kyrgyzstan will be able to earn up to $200 million annually only on transit of goods.
Meanwhile, a trilateral agreement on the building of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway will be signed on September 15-16, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) heads of state summit, which will be held in Uzbekistan's Samarkand.
