BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27. Kyrgyzstan increased the volume of electricity imports from January through September 2022, Trend reports citing Kyrgyz Electricity Settlement Center.
According to statistical data, the value of Kyrgyzstan's electricity imports in 9 months of this year amounted to 2 billion kWh, which is a twofold increase over the same period in 2021 (1 billion kWh).
During the reporting period, the main electricity suppliers to Kyrgyzstan were Uzbekistan (993.4 million kWh), Kazakhstan (423 million kWh) and Turkmenistan (669.2 million kWh).
Meanwhile, in 9 months Kyrgyzstan generated electricity worth 24.8 billion soms ($297 million), which is an increase of 11.7 percent over the same period in 2021 (22.2 billion soms, or $265.6 million).
