BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 22. China is planning to construct a plant for the production of agricultural machinery in Kyrgyzstan's Osh region, Trend reports.
This initiative was announced by the Chinese side during a meeting between the Deputy Mayor of Osh, Zamir Yusupov, and the Deputy Director of the Commission for Control and Management of State Assets of the Kyzyl-Suu Autonomous Region of China, Zhong Zhou.
The parties have also agreed to collaborate on other joint projects. During the meeting, Yusupov emphasized that Osh City will provide comprehensive support to strengthen bilateral relations. In turn, Zhong Zhou expressed the intention to further develop cooperation.
China is increasing its investment and cooperation efforts in various sectors in Kyrgyzstan, including agriculture and manufacturing.
As an example, in August 2023, China's Gree Altairnano New Energy Company and the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation for the construction of an electric bus assembly plant in Kyrgyzstan. According to the document, the Chinese company will consider investments for the factory and the expansion of service centers, charging stations, and battery replacement points in Kyrgyzstan.
In June 2023, China and Kyrgyzstan signed an investment agreement for the construction of a mineral fertilizer plant in Kyrgyzstan.
