BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 27. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has introduced electronic notary (e-notary) and electronic registration (e-registration)-enhanced digital platforms in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.
The platforms were introduced by a team led by Mark Bowman, EBRD Vice President of Policies and Partnerships, as stated by the bank. Initially launched in 2020, they have since undergone substantial enhancements through a collaborative effort between the EBRD and the Ministry of Justice of Kyrgyzstan.
The e-notary platform facilitates the complete digitalization of notarial processes by providing a unified online registry of notarial acts and a comprehensive database of notaries. Additionally, it enables the conversion of paper documents into digital formats and establishes personalized online portals for businesses, citizens, and notaries.
Meanwhile, the e-registration platform offers an automated system for the registration and liquidation of legal entities. Both platforms aim to streamline processes, reducing procedural bottlenecks, offering a more cost-effective and less bureaucratic approach to handling paperwork essential for business operations, and attracting foreign direct investment to the country.
Mark Bowman is on a visit to Kyrgyzstan from February 27 to March 1, 2024, for meetings with senior government officials, the diplomatic community, and clients of the bank. During his three-day visit, he is scheduled to meet with Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers; Daniyar Amangeldiev, Minister of Economy and EBRD Governor; and Ayaz Baetov, Minister of Justice.
