Kyrgyzstan sees rising money transfers in euro

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, June 5. The total number of incoming money transfers into Kyrgyzstan in euros amounted to 15,800 transactions in the first quarter of 2024, which is nine percent higher than in the same period of 2023, Trend reports.

According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, the overall value of these transfers reached 7.5 million euros, which is a 31.6 percent increase year-on-year.

On the other hand, the number of outgoing transfers amounted to 400 transactions, remaining unchanged compared to the same period last year. The value of these outgoing transfers reached 2.1 million euros, which is a sevenfold increase over the previous year's first quarter.

To note, during the first quarter of 2024, the total number of incoming transfers through international money transfer systems in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1.553 million transactions, totaling 42.6 billion soms ($485.746 million). The volume climbed by seven percent during the same period last year, but the number of transfers fell by 7 percent likewise.

The number of outgoing transfers totaled 115,300 transactions, for a total sum of 10.5 billion soms ($119.726 million). Compared to the same period last year, these figures decreased by 29.3 and 33.1 percent, respectively.
