BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 23. The total volume of cotton exports from Tajikistan amounted to 53,246 tons, Trend reports with the reference to the Customs Service of Tajikistan.
According to the statistics, cotton export value in the first five months of 2022 amounted to $145.8 million.
In total, about 30 textile enterprises currently operate in the country, with a total processing capacity of up to 70,000 tons of cotton per year.
Meanwhile, according to the forecasts of the main macroeconomic indicators of Tajikistan for 2022-2024, the country plans to reduce cotton exports in the next three years by 20,000 tons.
