BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma announced that Tajikistan is going to export electricity to Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing Tajikistan's State Media Khovar.
"To date, an agreement was concluded for the export of electricity to Uzbekistan produced by Tajikistan's Rogun HPP. In the near future, we intend to sign a similar deal with Kazakhstan," Juma said.
According to him, Tajikistan intends to export to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan up to 10 billion kWh of electricity per year.
Remarkably, Rogun HPP is the largest hydroelectric power facility in Central Asia. The design capacity of the hydropower plant is 13.1 billion kWh per year.
