BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Tajikistan revealed volume of Rogun HPP's electricity production in the first half of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the asiaplustj.info.
Two hydropower units of Tajikistan's Rogun HPP (No. 6 and No. 5), which operate at a minimum capacity, from January through June 2022 produced 910 million kWh of electricity.
According to preliminary estimates, $5 billion is required to complete the construction of Rogun HPP, although the prices of such long-term projects may fluctuate over time.
In general, it is planned to install six hydropower units with a capacity of 600 MW. The construction of HPP is expected to be fully completed by 2033.
Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, the country's electricity generation in the reporting period amounted to 10.4 billion kWh of electricity.
