BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. The US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Aga Khan Foundation US constructed drinking water supply systems in Tajikistan, Trend reports citing the Embassy of the US in Tajikistan.
Within the framework of USAID and AKF's Thrive Tajikistan program (2018-2023) two new drinking water supply systems have been built in two villages of Qubodiyon and Shahritus districts. More than 10,000 people will have access to clean, reliable water.
"To date, Thrive Tajikistan has constructed seven drinking water supply systems and seven school latrines in Farkhor, Hamadoni, Panj, Qubodiyon, Roshtqala, and Shahritus districts that provide 22,774 people with access to clean drinking water and improved sanitation and hygiene services to 4,924 people," the US Embassy in Tajikistan said.
Since 1993, USAID has cooperated with the Government of Tajikistan to enhance good governance, foster economic expansion, improve education, health, food security and strengthen regional economic connectivity.
