BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) provided modern fruit dehydrators to Tajik farmers, Trend reports with reference to agroinform.asia.
Within FAO's and GEF's project of the Integrated Natural Resources Management in Drought-Prone and Salt-Affected Agricultural Production Landscapes in Central Asia and Türkiye, Tajik farmers received 40 eco-friendly fruit dehydrators for more than $40,000.
Depending on temperature and air exposure, each machine may produce up to 75 kg of dried apricots from 300 kg of fresh apricots in 10-14 days.
In addition, the equipment can also be used to dry berries, including grapes, vegetables and medicinal herbs.
