BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the sidelines of the plenary session of the 6th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia on October, Trend reports via Pakistani Media.

During the meeting in Kazakhstan’s Astana, Sharif emphasized the expansion of cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan in the field of road transport and air links.

As reported, Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to provide Tajikistan access to Gwadar and Karachi ports.

He also underlined the need to boost cooperation in the energy sector. It was agreed to work together for the early completion of CASA 1000 project, which would be a harbinger of future energy corridors with Central Asia.

Furthermore, to promote substantive cooperation, the parties agreed to strengthen high-level contacts, inter-parliamentary ties.
