BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. Against the backdrop of an unstable geopolitical situation in the world, Russia needs to more actively contribute to the development of the economic and investment environment in Tajikistan, an independent expert, and legal scholar from Dushanbe Shokir Khakimov told Trend.
On the eve of the 18th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, scheduled to be held in Dushanbe in November, Khakimov noted the importance of Russia as one of the main strategic partners of Tajikistan.
According to Khakimov, Russia could contribute to the growth of sociopolitical ties, the revival of the real sector of the economy, contribute to the development of socio-political relations and increase the efficiency and transparency of government and government institutions in order to better meet the requirements of modern states.
"Tajikistan first considers national interests before implementing its foreign policy. However, the implementation of economic projects and programs in Tajikistan is not possible without further support from Russia, international financial and credit institutions and other states with significant financial and economic potentials," Khakimov emphasized.
He also underlined that the effectiveness of the implementation of previously concluded agreements and treaties between the two countries at various levels in all spheres of relations is also of great importance.
