BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects total government gross debt in Tajikistan to decrease in 2023, 2024, Trend reports with reference to the latest Regional Economic Outlook from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to the IMF analytics, the total government gross debt in Tajikistan will amount to 32.3 percent of the GDP in 2023, with subsequent decline to 31.3 percent in 2023.
Meanwhile, the government gross debt in Tajikistan was estimated by IMF economists at 34.6 percent of the GDP in 2022, 42.5 percent of the GDP in 2021, and 49.8 percent of the GDP in 2020.
At the same time, IMF predicts the real GDP growth in Tajikistan at 5 percent in 2023, and at 4.5 percent in 2024.
As IMF report said, Tajikistan’s real GDP growth reached 8 percent back in 2022.
Meanwhile, the World Bank (WB) predicts the country’s real GDP growth at 5 percent in 2023, and 4 percent in 2024 and 2025. On the other hand, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasts Tajikistan’s real GDP growth at 5.5 percent in 2023, and 6.5 percent in 2024.
