Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov has received Belarusian Ambassador Enver Bariyev, who presented his credentials to the head of state, the Neytralniy Turkmenistan newspaper said on Wednesday.

Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov has received Belarusian Ambassador Enver Bariyev, who presented his credentials to the head of state, the Neytralniy Turkmenistan newspaper said on Wednesday.

Bariyev conveyed greetings of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, 'who addressed the best wishes to the head of friendly state and Turkmen people'.

He voiced 'Belarus's high interest in further building a full-scale cooperation with Turkmenistan'.

Berdimuhammedov also voiced best wishes to the leadership and people of Belarus.
"Turkmenistan is also interested in expanding mutually advantageous Turkmen-Belarusian partnership built on an equitable and long-term basis," Berdimuhammedov said.

The two sides exchanged views on the status and prospects of cooperation that has "tremendous potential for intensification of productive contacts in all fields, including trade and economic sector, agriculture, chemical and food processing industry, transport and communication and other areas".

Construction of the largest industrial construction company - mining and processing complex for the production of potash fertilizers in the Lebap region was named as the successfully implemented joint project.

During the meeting both sides expressed confidence that the Belarus-Turkmenistan cooperation will continue to flourish for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.

Diplomatic relations between the countries were established in 1993.
