The government of Turkmenistan has submitted a report on the preparation for the upcoming official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov to Turkey, which will be held on March 3-4, said the report of the government of Turkmenistan Feb.28.
The sides are expected to sign a package of bilateral documents that will further strengthen the regulatory and legal framework of intergovernmental partnership.
The visit program also provides for a visit of Istanbul by the Turkmen head, where the International Investment Forum of Turkmenistan will be held.
Turkey is one of the biggest trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan. The local market employs more than 600 Turkish companies.
Turkmenistan is one of the key players on the gas market in the Caspian region and Central Asia. As far as the European direction is concerned, the most optimal route would be laying a 300-kilometer gas pipeline across the Caspian Sea to the coast of Azerbaijan, which has at its disposal an appropriate infrastructure for re-export of Turkmen gas to Turkey and further to Europe.
