By Huseyn Hasanov– Trend:

Turkmenistan’s East-West gas pipeline, which was commissioned in December 2015, will provide the country’s industrial facilities with gas in the future, online newspaper of the country’s Oil and Gas Complex said in a message.

This will create conditions for the development of a number of areas, particularly the electric power industry, and ensure the further socio-economic development of the country’s regions in general.

It is expected to build several gas compression stations and a number of other facilities along the route of the gas pipeline. The preparation has already been started at the Shatlyk site.

The East-West gas pipeline with a capacity of 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year was constructed by the Turkmenneftegazstroy and Turkmengas state concerns.

“This gas pipeline has become an essential part of the country’s modern gas transportation system which is being modernized by Turkmenistan in line with the growing needs of the national economy and realia of the international energy market,” reads the message.
