Turkmenistan to organize regular cargo flights to number of countries

Turkmenistan Airline will organize regular cargo flights to Russia, Kazakhstan, India, and the UAE, Trend reports with reference to Centralasia.media.

According to the information, flights to Moscow were scheduled for October 13, 20, and 27. Cargo planes will leave for Almaty on Fridays. The schedule for the flights to Delhi and Dubai is still unknown.

In addition, the number of flights to some of these destinations will increase from November.

Until now, cargo planes from Turkmenistan have flown only to China and Germany due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier it was reported that regular air traffic between Turkmenistan and other countries of the world was terminated in March 2020. Until August, even export passenger flights were not carried out for citizens who did not have time to return from abroad. In August, export flights began, but in insufficient quantities. The flights were stopped again in July 2021.

Freight flights from Turkmenistan to Beijing and Frankfurt started in February 2021. It was reported that Passenger Boeing-777s was used for the transportation of goods because the fleet of cargo aircraft of the Turkmenistan airline is limited to two Il-76s, which were produced more than 25 years ago. In January 2021, plans were announced to purchase two Airbus-330 freighters.
