BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 23. The fifth meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the countries participating in the Dialogue "Central Asia - Russia" was held in the format of a videoconference, Trend reports via Business Turkmenistan news agency.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the governments and foreign ministers of Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, as well as Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov.
Turkmenistan was represented at the meeting by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
The foreign ministers reviewed the interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres between the countries of Central Asia and Russia. The diplomats also touched upon the issues of maintaining regional stability and security in the region.
At the meeting, Meredov stated the established positive pace of development of interstate relations, and also stressed the importance of this format in ensuring the progressive growth of cooperation in the region.
During the meeting, the sides also noted the importance of further strengthening multifaceted cooperation, including on post-crisis economic recovery, as well as ensuring food security.
