BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. The complex of clothing and shoe factories located in the Magtymguly city of the Balkan region in the west of Turkmenistan increased production figures for January 2023, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
According to the information, during the specified period, the complex manufactured over 29,500 units of knitwear, which is 2.2 times more than in January last year, and 3,000 pairs of shoes, increasing production by 50 percent year-on-year. The growth rate of production compared to the first month of 2022 amounted to 135 percent.
In value terms, the company produced products in the amount of 1.5 million Turkmen manats ($428,100) for the specified year.
With the increasing dynamics of the construction of industrial and social facilities in Turkmenistan, the industry is becoming one of the major sectors of the economy, which is given an important role in the implementation of import substitution programs and increasing the export potential of the state.
