ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 20. Specialists of Turkmenistan studied international experience in the development of regulatory legal acts and regulatory and technical documents in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency at a training seminar held in Turkmenistan's Mary city, Trend reports.

The seminar was organized within the framework of the joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza".

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, the Research and Production Center "Renewable Energy Sources" (RES) at this institute, as well as specialists and international consultants of the UNDP project.

Furthermore, the seminar presented the activities carried out jointly with specialists of the Ministry of Energy and the State Energy Institute of the UNDP project on the development of regulatory legal acts on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.

The participants got acquainted with international standards and best practices in this area, as well as with the activities of the UNDP project on sustainable waste management and the use of waste as renewable energy.

The seminar contributed to the professional development of Turkmenistan's specialists in the field of energy conservation and energy efficiency, as well as to the expansion of cooperation between various stakeholders on these issues.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan is actively working to improve energy conservation and energy efficiency in the country, realizing the importance of these measures to ensure sustainable development, reduce the negative impact on the environment, and reduce dependence on traditional energy sources.
