ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 9. Turkmenistan saw GDP growth of 6.3 percent from January through November 2023, indicating an increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Trend reports.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 8 this year.
According to him, during these months, Turkmenistan saw an increase in retail trade turnover by 9.9 percent, exceeding the recorded figure for the first eleven months of 2022, and production by 6.6 percent.
Furthermore, the Deputy Chairman added that the average monthly salary at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 9.9 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022, while pensions, state benefits, student scholarships and salaries were fully funded in a timely manner.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has consistently witnessed economic expansion through concerted endeavors in the energy, transportation, and infrastructure domains.
The nation is proactively enacting initiatives to draw in foreign investments, with a particular emphasis on diversifying the economy and enhancing the overall business environment.
