ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 29. Industrial enterprises of the Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, have produced a large volume of cotton products since the beginning of this year, Trend reports.
According to official data, enterprises in the region produced 85,600 tons of cotton fiber during the specified period.
Furthermore, since the beginning of the year, textile enterprises in the Lebap region have produced cotton yarn worth 270.1 million Turkmen manat ($77.09 million), and cotton fabrics worth 52 million Turkmen manat ($14.84 million).
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan plans to invest more than $300 million in more than 30 textile sector projects by 2025.
Significant investments will be made to enhance current capacity as well as to construct over ten new production sites, with existing enterprises serving as the basis.
