ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 4. Turkmenistan's agro-industrial sector saw an increase in production by 4.2 percent from January through February 2024, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, Trend reports.
This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atakhallyev at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to his statement, during the specified period, the growth rate of production volumes for the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan amounted to 24.2 percent, for the Ministry of Environmental Protection – 23.5 percent, and for the State Committee of Water Management – 23.2 percent.
Atakhallyev noted that the production growth rate for the Turkmenpagta State Concern amounted to 1.6 percent, the Turkmen galla onumleri State Association – 9.5 percent, the Turkmenobahyzmat State Association – 6.7 percent, the State Association of Food Industry – 0.5 percent, the Turkmen Atlary State Association – 1.9 percent.
Furthermore, Deputy Chairman added that in the first two months of this year, the plan for the development of investments in the agro-industrial complex was exceeded by 130.4 percent.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has strategically emphasized the advancement of its agro-industrial sector, enacting policies and endeavors aimed at modernizing farming practices, elevating efficiency, and guaranteeing food sovereignty.
Through substantial investment in infrastructure, including irrigation systems and agricultural equipment, as well as the integration of cutting-edge farming methods and technologies, the nation has markedly augmented its agricultural yield.
