ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 10. The textile enterprises under Turkmenistan's Ministry of Textile Industry exceeded production targets across various sectors from January through May this year, Trend reports.
According to the official source, this was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdaev, at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on June 7.
"The volume of cotton yarn and fabrics produced by enterprises of the Ministry of Textile Industry is 126.2 and 117 percent, respectively; sewing and knitwear are 108.5 percent, leather goods are 121.2 percent," he said.
The Deputy Chairman also added that in the first five months of this year, the enterprises of the Turkmenhaly State Association fulfilled the carpet production plan by 100.9 percent.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's textile industry has been booming, thanks to the government's generous investments and modernization initiatives.
The country has prioritized the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and equipment, along with implementing reforms in legislation and economic policies to encourage foreign investment. These efforts have resulted in notable expansions in production capacity and improvements in product quality.
