Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Uzbekistan with residence in Moscow (Russia), John Ronald Kur, handed the copies of his credentials to Uzbek Foreign Ministry, addressed to President Islam Karimov, the press service of the ministry said.

During the meeting held at the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed topical issues of the Uzbek-Canadian agenda, proposals of the parties for further development of cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

It was emphasized that the parties attach great importance to holding regular bilateral political consultations, strengthening inter-parliamentary contacts, establishing direct links among regions and cities, higher education establishments, cultural institutions, and tourist organizations of the two countries.

The meeting confirmed mutual interest in the expansion of cooperation between business circles of Uzbekistan and Canada, which the holding of joint business forums contribute to.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
