Uzbekistan creates department to increase standard of living

Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan has adopted a resolution on the creation of information and analytical department of the government on the issues of integrated socio-economic development of the regions of the country.
The document released Jan. 10 in Uzbekistan envisages that the department’s specialists, who work in the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions of Uzbekistan and Tashkent city, are authorized representatives of the government at the respective area.
The department will operate under the Uzbek prime minister and is subject to the first deputy prime minister.
The competence of the department includes the issues of execution of legislative acts, the interaction with the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan, local administrations of regions, districts, cities and the capital of Uzbekistan, information and analytical work, the development of programs for socio-economic development, as well as monitoring and control of their implementation.
Analysis of the socio-economic development of the regions of Uzbekistan, increase of the quality and standard of living in the country, interaction and dialogue with the country’s population are the priority tasks of the department.
