The volume of mung bean exported from Uzbekistan since the beginning of the year in value terms amounted to $42.9 million, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
In physical terms, more than 48,422 tons of mung beans have been registered in the customs regime of export in Uzbekistan, which is 44 percent more compared to the same period last year
As a result of the export of mung beans, the country's foreign exchange earnings increased by $18.8 million (78 percent) compared to the same period last year.
Some 46 percent of the beans were exported to China, 32 percent to Pakistan and 8 percent to Afghanistan.
In addition, this year, the export of beans to the Netherlands increased 18 times, to Germany - 14 times and Tajikistan - 11 times.
Uzbekistan began exporting mung bean to Belgium, Qatar, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, Australia and Korea this year for the first time.
Earlier it was reported that the volume of agricultural products produced in Uzbekistan over six months this year amounted to 93.6 trillion soums ($9.17 billion), which is 2.7 percent more than in the same period last year.
