Uzbek Jizzax Organic predicts increase of purebred sheep herds in Uzbekistan

Experts Jizzax Organic, the largest producer and supplier of meat and milk products in Uzbekistan, forecast that in 2021 the number of purebred sheep herds will reach 6,000 heads, and in 2022 dietary lamb will go to retail outlets, Trend reports referring to uzdaily.uz.

The total investment by Jizzax Organic as of October 31, 2020, amounted to $62 million. By the end of 2022, this figure will reach $150 million.

The of the Jizzakh region allocated 10,700 hectares to the cluster for the creation of a fodder base, of which 5,600 hectares were sown already in 2020.

The Jizzax Organic agricultural machinery fleet includes 164 units with a total value of $10 million. Several operations are carried out in one pass of the technique, as well as targeted fertilization and shallow tillage are practiced in order to make the impact on the soil to a minimum.

The volume of investments of the national cluster in crop production amounted to $15.3 million. By the end of 2022, this figure will reach $23 million.

Today the Jizzax Organic beef herd numbers almost 5,000 heads of Angus and Hereford breeds. The cluster will establish the first stage of marbled beef production in Uzbekistan on its basis. The 590 Angus who came a year ago gave birth to 220 calves and in October this year, another 4,000 heifers arrived from Russia and the US.

The first batch of environmentally friendly, fine-grained beef will appear in the Saxovat retail chain of stores this year.

Valley Jizzax Organic installed 20 kilometers of main pipes to installing the latest generation of American irrigation systems.

The irrigation complex covered 600 hectares of pastures and forage crops. Jizzax Organic will install sprinklers on an additional 3,300 hectares in 2021.

The national cluster brought 2,100 Dorper sheep and rams from Australia to Uzbekistan in November 2020. These animals are unpretentious in food and tolerate hot, arid climates well. The daily weight gain of rams reaches 700 grams, and the meat does not have a specific smell.

According to the forecasts of Jizzax Organic experts, in 2021 the number of purebred sheep herds will reach 6,000 heads, and in 2022 dietary lamb will go to retail outlets.

The total investment of Jizzax Organic as of October 31, 2020, amounted to $62 million, including $26.88 million at the expense of the UzPSB (Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank) loan. This figure will reach $150 million by the end of 2022, including through a loan at the expense of the UzPSB loan of $45 million.
