Equipment for the cement production at the Uzbek-Chinese joint venture Fergana Yasin Qurilish Mollari in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan was fully imported from China, the head of the department of foreign economic relations of Association of Enterprises of Building Materials Industry of Uzbekistan Sohib Abilkasimov told Trend.
According to the information, Fergana Yasin Qurilish Mollari, which specializes in the production of cement, is capable of producing up to 2,500 tons of products per day.
It was also noted that $120 million will be attracted for the implementation of the second stage of the project to increase cement production by 2021. The second stage of the cement plant is scheduled to start-up in July next year. As a result, the enterprise will produce up to two million tons of products per year.
The association also said that currently there are eight cement plants with an annual capacity of 3.58 million tons in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan.
According to the association, these enterprises produced about 142 million tons of cement products for ten months of 2020.
In addition, it was reported that it is planned to produce an additional 1.7 million tons of cement by the end of this year.
